Governor Thomas Stelzer, Mayor Andreas Rabl and Doris Hummer, president of the Chamber of Commerce Upper Austria, accepted the invitation and did not miss this important step for REFORM. Numerous media representatives, such as ORF, WT1, OÖNachrichten and the Bezirksrundschau as well as journalists from trade journals such as Bauernzeitung, ZEK Kommunal and SI Seilbahnen International also appeared and were welcomed by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Robert Kastil, and by the Managing Directors, Dr. Clemens Malina-Altzinger, Reinhard Riepl and Herbert Schwaiger.
The official opening speech was given by Dr. Clemens Malina-Altzinger, in which he explained the importance of this local investment in Wels. The expansion and modernization of the Reform plants in Wels with a total volume of around 15 million euros is entering the next phase with the new Customer Employee Center. The proximity to the customer and the attractiveness as an employer will be significantly increased by this new customer-employee center. It has 730 m² of exhibition space, various training rooms, a handover hall, a works restaurant and an attractive reception area. There was also great interest in the Metron P48 RC, the world's first radio-controlled equipment carrier with genuine plug-in hybrid drive, which was awarded the International Innovation Prize at this year's GaLaBau and is already playing an important role in several innovative future projects.
Afterwards governor Thomas Stelzer congratulated on the successful existence of the REFORM-Werke for decades and on this promising investment. President of the Chamber of Commerce Upper Austria Doris Hummer also praised the success of the company and is looking forward to the next 100 business years. The mayor of Wels, Dr. Andreas Rabl, mentioned the positive economic development in Wels and the quick feasibility of such large projects, which serve the location Wels sustainably.
Shortly afterwards, the time had come: equipped with REFORM helmets and spades, the ground-breaking ceremony took place on the factory premises. Governor of the Province Thomas Stelzer, Dr. Andreas Rabl, Mayor, Dr. Doris Hummer, President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, THE Managing Directors of REFORM, Dr. Clemens Malina-Altzinger, Reinhard Riepl and Dipl. Ing. Herbert Schwaiger, as well as Robert Kastil, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of REFORM and Wolfgang Mittermayr, Chief Architect of REFORM, took action.
The ground-breaking ceremony was followed by a short tour of the production and assembly facilities, where numerous hands were shaken and discussions were held with the employees. At the REFORM training workshop group photos and interviews with the apprentices of the first year were announced. After all, Mayor Dr. Rabl praised the importance of REFORM's apprentice training in the run-up to the event. For years, REFORM has relied on recruiting specialists, specialists and managers from its own ranks. So it is no wonder that the average length of service at REFORM is more than 16 years, whereupon Doris Hummer impressed the comparison to the average number from the economy in Upper Austria with only 2 years of service brought into discussion.
At the end of the event there was a strengthening and some interviews, as well as nice conversations.
We would like to thank the guests of honour, as well as the media representatives, for their appearance and cooperation. Their coming underlines the importance and significance of investment for the future. We are already looking forward to your participation in the opening of the REFORM Customer Employee Center in early 2020.
