The countdown has started, REFORM Metron proves itself in practice

The REFORM Metron P48 RC, presented for the first time in autumn 2018, enjoyed great popularity at various trade fairs and attracted a great deal of attention.

Whether in Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain or Austria, the concept of the hybrid drive was convincing everywhere.

The Metron P48 RC is the first radio-controlled equipment carrier with a true hybrid drive. The vehicle concept is based on a Kubota petrol engine with 48 hp, a generator directly flanged to the flywheel, 4 electric wheel motors and a battery pack. The Metron P48 RC has a PTO front linkage and optional rear linkage. The hybrid drive also enables the Metron P48 RC to operate emission-free, purely electrically. If more power is required, the petrol engine can be switched on quickly and easily. The Metron P48 RC has no hydraulic components at all. Both the steering and lifting cylinders are equipped with electric servomotors instead of hydraulic cylinders. The risk of contamination due to oil loss is thus a thing of the past. In addition, the efficiency of the electric components is significantly higher than that of comparable hydraulic drives.

However, the concept does not remain a study; the pilot series is currently being built in Wels (Austria). The Metron from the pilot series will then be used for demonstrations throughout Europe in the coming weeks and months. For the first time, the Metron will also be shown in practical use at the Demopark in Eisenach from 23 to 25 June 2019. Visit us at booth A153 and experience the REFORM Metron in action.

As usual with REFORM products, many components are developed and also manufactured in Wels due to a high in-house production depth. This high competence allows us to always produce at the highest quality level. The final assembly of the pre-series devices is already running at full speed. After the devices have been manufactured, they are put through their paces before being put to practical use.
